They’ve been called the dwarf dog. A small dog who hasn’t a clue he’s small that can make a wonderful addition to any family.

Welsh Corgis are generally recognized as two distinct breeds: the Cardigan and the Pembroke. While similar, Cardigan and Pembroke Welsh Corgis come from different origins. The most obvious difference in their appearance is the tail: Cardigans have a long, brushy tail; the Pembroke's tail is docked.

Corgis are extremely active and loyal dogs. They are highly intelligent and very obedient. As they are loyal to their owners they make excellent watch dogs. They make good companion dogs. These hardy dogs have been used for centuries to move cattle, sheep, goats and ducks as well as serve as friend, protector and companion for the farmer's family and children.

Corgis are equally suited to families and singles. They are energetic, full of life, quick in movement and mind. They like long walks and good romps, as well as quiet companionship.

The normal height is 10-12 inches and weight is 24-30 pounds.
