The Miniature Schnauzer is relatively small in size but in no way toyish or delicate. He makes an excellent companion because he is extremely obedient and quick to learn, is devoted, playful and affectionate.

He is as much at home in the city with a small amount of exercise as he is in the country where he appears tireless. Energetic, affectionate, and obedient. Playful, happy and alert, they act like children.

The Miniature Schnauzer has a hard and wiry outer coat, while the undercoat is close and dense. The Miniature Schnauzer is generally well mannered and very obedient making him a great student.

A very perky breed, they do not do well in kennel life and should always be kept as a companion. This breed loves to be around his owner and does best in a family environment.

The Miniature Schnauzer is a breed of small dog of the Schnauzer type that originated in Germany in the mid-to-late 19th century. The 1920's were when Miniatures were recorded as first imported into the United States.
