The Greyhound is a breed of dog that has been primarily bred for companionship, coursing game and racing. They can be traced back over 8,000 years to early cave drawings and decorative artifacts. Old paintings and tapestries showing hunting feasts frequently included Greyhounds.

Bred for speed, the beautiful Greyhound is poetry in motion. Despite the body size, Greyhounds are as easily adaptable to an apartment as to a large house. Plenty of outdoor exercise and a controlled diet are required to keep the Greyhound fit and to prevent obesity.

Although this breed is almost always friendly with people, he can become very excited at the sight of a cat, squirrel, or other small dog that may provide a good chase.

They have exceptionally keen eyesight, and keen hearing and sense of smell. They are sensitive, sweet, elegant,. brave and loyal, ands very intelligent.

The normal height is 27-30 inches with weight of 60-70 pounds.
