Boston Terriers are typically small, compactly built, well proportioned dogs with erect ears, short tails, and a short muzzle that should be free of wrinkles. One of the few native American breeds, it is often called the American Gentleman.

The Boston Terrier is a lively, highly intelligent, enthusiastic and occasionally rambunctious breed that has a sense of humor. They are very sensitive to the tone of one's voice. This breed likes to learn and therefore is not difficult to train.

Most reliable with children, especially good with elderly people and very friendly with strangers. The Boston Terrier is playful, very affectionate and likes to be part of the family.

The Boston Terrier did not arrive on the shores of the United States by boat. It didn't arrive by air or any other means of transportation. In short, it was bred here in the U.S. and soon became one of the most popular breeds of all times.

Bostons participate in many sports. You will find them in the obedience ring, agility trials, flyball and even tracking events. A healthy, sound Boston is an athlete who can hold her head up among the best of them. Your Boston can sail over the jumps and race around the ring, exuding joy at every turn, in all of these sports and maybe more.

Boston Terriers are extremely easy dogs to live with wanting only to please and are easy to train. Bostons are strictly house dogs, they are not able to cope with extreme cold, nor can they deal with extreme heat. The normal height is 15-17 inches, the weight is 10-25 pounds.
